2020 Acura TLX A-Spec Overview

Starting off with the exterior styling, the Acura TLX received a complete refresh in 2018, which carries over into the 2020 model. The big Acura logo in the middle of the diamond pentagon grill houses the AcuraWatch suite of safety features, which consists of Lane Keep Assist System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Road Departure Mitigation and Collision Mitigation Braking System.

The 2020 TLX A-Spec also has jewel-eye LED headlights and foglights, 19-inch shark gray alloy wheels wrapped in a Michelin all-season tire, a gloss-black decklid spoiler and 4-inch round exhausts tips to give a sportier look.

On the interior, you’ll find perforated Milano leather seats with available contrast stitching and piping, while also having the option of the exclusive red leather or black alcantara trim. Also, the A-Spec offers ventilated seats in addition to the heated seats, which draw air into the seat through the perforations.

With the TLX A-Spec, you can choose between two different engines: the 2.4L 4-cylinder or the 3.5L V6. The 2.4L gives you an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, while the 3.5L V6 gives you the 9-speed transmission, with a horsepower between 206 and 290 between the two.

There is no shortage of driving modes between Economy, Normal, Sport, and Sport Plus. On one end, Economy improves fuel efficiency, while on the other, Sport Plus offers an aggressive and more fun shifting algorithm. The 2020 TLX A-Spec is also the quietest Acura to date thanks to active sound control, which is a frequency that comes out of the speakers to cancel out road noise. On top of that, for the first time ever Acura has injected foam into the door panels to help absorb the road noise.

Not only is this vehicle quiet, it’s also incredibly safe thanks to the Ace Body Structure 2, which is a network of frames and subframes in the front to help absorb the impact of a frontal crash, deflecting the energy around the passengers into the body of the car, versus sending it to the people inside. Impressive!

And finally, the technology in this car includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a wireless charging station in the center console. Interested in test driving the 2020 Acura TLX A-Spec yourself? Feel free to stop by anytime, give us a call, or visit frankletaacura.com to schedule an appointment.
