Why is my Vehicle Displaying the TPMS Icon?

Drastic Changes in Weather Temperatures: Have you ever noticed that your tire pressure monitor presents itself more often during the winter months? This is not a coincidence! When the outside temperature drops, air molecules begin slowing down and taking up less space, and the same principle applies to the air inside of your tire. As the air becomes denser, it struggles to expand to the tire walls, leading to a deflated wheel. Once the weather begins warming up again, however, you should notice that those air molecules re-expanded and you may actually have to remove excess air inside the tires.

A Leak in Your Tire: While it would certainly be nice, the weather isn’t always the culprit when it comes to decreased tire pressures. Tire leaks are extremely common and depending on the location, can be very stubborn at times.
